Starting out

Researching family genealogy can sometimes be a rather individual pursuit and it's easy to let information accumulate without passing it along to all related family members. And yet these family stories that we work so hard to uncover are things that can bring us together, to share in family stories and remember long forgotten episodes. These stories can help educate us to the struggles our ancestors faced and the difficult decisions endured over the course of a life. It can also show us the incredible range of human mobility across this earth as family members far apart reconnect or venture out to even more distant shores.

This blog aims to collect the stories of several family lines all unified in this current generation. The top 8 lines we'll be using as our starting points will be the family names of: LaGarde, Truby, Hibben, Lovett on one side and Tarbutton, Dawley, Polastro/Antico and Doiche on the other. We're hoping that this blog will allow us to explore each of our ancestors in some detail and give us a chance to share in the accumulated knowledge and primary source materials that make the exploration into these lives so fascinating.

If you're a member of these lines, feel free to drop us a note and subscribe to our posts. We'll try to keep them interesting, informative and easily open to further research so that those interested can use these posts as a jumping off point for their own investigations. And if you have additional information that you'd like to share concerning any of these stories, please send it along. We'd love to add to the collection of materials available on the internet so that all related members of these lines can benefit from the information.
